Meet the Artist and Owner of Alzyia Designs Gallery & Boutique:

Heather@Alzyia-Designs.com

Heather's artistic background and unique attitude is the basis for Alzyia Designs. That combined with her talent, love of paintings, and passion for weddings, helps her to create gifts of art to send as keepsake invitations. She believes that the invitation should not only be a personal reflection of the bride and groom to be, but a gift that each guest will cherish. Her years of artistic experience, reflected on your invitations, will have your guests anxious to attend your much awaited event. Heather is an accomplished artist and has been featured in New York Galleries as well as local Galleries in Cincinnati. Above all else, her ability to think outside the square invitation and reach for the soul of the couple is truely a gift.

While living in New York in 2002, Heather  was diagnosed with Usher Syndrome. This news has only fueled her passion for painting and creating beautiful art for all to enjoy!  Usher syndrome is an inherited condition characterized by hearing impairment and progressive vision loss.  The vision loss is due to retinitis pigmentosa (RP), a degenerative condition of the retina.  (RP) is the name given to a group of inherited eye diseases that affect the retina. Retinitis pigmentosa causes the degeneration of photoreceptor cells in the retina. Photoreceptor cells capture and process light helping us to see. As these cells degenerate and die, patients experience progressive vision loss.  There is currently no cure or treatment for patients with RP.

Heather believes that while her RP can sometimes cause challenges, it has pushed her to live each sighted day to the fullest, to see the light and colors of the world and paint them. She loves to paint and wants the world to see the beauty through her eyes.
